STIEFF SHUTTLE

(from Tom Simmons, 5/16/06) Due to many requests for the Stieff Shuttle to run from 12 to 1 the Whiting School is having the vehicle available at this time Starting on May 22 the Shuttle will make this run. Please note this time slot is the only one available to have the vehicle serviced or washed. When these needs arise an email will be sent to those concerned so they can schedule accordingly.

Beginning Sept. 6, 2006, the Stieff Shuttle will return to picking up and dropping off at the back entrance of Shriver Hall.

There is a 7 passenger van to be driven by a full time security guard/shuttle driver. The guard/driver will be stationed at the Stieff Lobby and will be available to take Stieff Occupants to north entrance of the New Engineering Building as needed. He will also make on the hour stops at NEB to pickup anyone needing a ride back to Stieff. So people will not need to wait longer than an hour for a ride; the guard/driver will also have a JHU cell phone. With this he can be called when a ride is needed back to Stieff. Please note the only pick up point is the north entrance of NEB due to construction traffic.

The service will run from 8 AM in the morning to 9 PM at night, with the guard/driver having a 1 hour lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM.

Our hope is this new service will provide both a better connection to campus with less time waiting for rides, as well as a better sense of security.
