Graduation Process: B.S. in Electrical Engineering

 

1. The student obtains:

 

·        An "Application for Graduation, Baccalaureate Candidates" form from the registrar

·        An "Assessment Questionnaire for the Electrical Engineering Program", an "Advising Check-List for the Electrical Engineering B.S. Degree", and a "Declaration of Intent to Complete a Second Major"" if the BSEE is a second major from the ECE Departmental office or the web (http://www.ece.jhu.edu)

 

2. The student completes the three (or four) forms and

 

·        Returns the "Application for Graduation, Baccalaureate Candidates" form to the registrar in the basement of Garland hall. Note that the form is then used by the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to generate a list of candidates for B.S./B.A degree that is sent to the chairman of ECE

·        Returns the "Declaration of Intent to Complete a Second Major" to the Office of Academic Affairs if the BSEE is a second major

·        Meets with his academic advisor to discuss the "Assessment Questionnaire for the Electrical Engineering Program" and   have the "Advising Check-List for the Electrical Engineering B.S. Degree" approved

·        Returns the "Assessment Questionnaire for the Electrical Engineering Program" to Ms.Candace Abel in Barton 105

·        Meets with the ECE chair to discuss his experience at Hopkins

 

3. The academic advisor

 

·        Receives a copy of the list of candidates for B.S./B.A. degree, together with a copy of his advisees' transcripts from the ECE chair.

·        Meets with his advisees to discuss their "Assessment Questionnaire for the Electrical Engineering Program" and reviews and approves their "Advising Check-List for the Electrical Engineering B.S. Degree". If necessary the advisor writes a note to the ECE chair requesting waiver of requirements, together with the justification for the request

·        The academic advisor returns the "Advising Check-List for the Electrical Engineering B.S. Degree" approved and signed, and the copy of the list of candidates for BS/B.A. degree, with the Req's Met? And Dept. Honors columns completed for his/her advisees to the ECE chair

 

4. Notes

 

·        The deadline to apply for spring term graduation is January 31

·        Departmental Honors are only given for first majors, and when GPA >=3.5
